Thank you. I really liked painting the Scaeva as well.
The shield is from a "free" Roman Centurion mini I got with the Hail Caesar rules from Warlord ( I used a plain shield for the Centurion to fit in with rest of the unit)

I need to keep checking up on all of these ludus threads more often, seems like every time I do I find another excellent shield design to steal for one my own gladiators. Gonna have to do an octopus, just like your first Myrmillo!

Your Ludus looks very good. The skin tones are spot on and I really like your shield designs. The miniatures have overall good contrast and really 'pop' in the group shot. Do you have plans to built an arena to game in? On this Blog http://mountainsoflead.com/2013/06/12/incipiant-ludi/ a guy built an arena using a cookie tin. He uses it for storage, too. Might be an inspiration.

I have got a "Playmobil Arena" for my 54mm stuff but haven't decided on an arena for my 28mm minis.
I'm quite tempted by the resin one by Steve Barber.........

In the mean-time I have knocked up a printed one mounted on board for some BOTs play-testing.

Just a few pics of my latest gladiator...... NOT Theokoles.
He's a converted "Heroes of the Dark Age" Viking. ( Two minis chopped together, a plastic head from a Warlord minis British soldier)

Not brilliant but he will do until I find a better one.

Thanks gents. He's probably the last mini I'll be painting for a while as I'm having issues with my eyes.
I really struggled with this one and ended up going to get my eyes checked. I'm getting some reading glasses but I have a "bleed" at the back of one eye which is fogging my vision. Might need laser surgery.....
Anyhow, good time to do some gaming rather than painting.
