Chimeras or Rhinos?
« on: January 13, 2014, 01:15:34 AM »
I have a set of unassembled Rhinos as well as several assembled Chimeras. What do you all think would be more fitting APCs for my UNA troops?

What's UNA? I could only find United Nurses Association.

Anyways, a Rhino is space M113 while the Chimera is space BMP-1 pretty much... take your pick.

Chimeras always looked more realistic to me.  Maybe Chimera chassis with your own turrets (lose the front mounted guns or something).

This.

Though it might be cool to see if you can find some 1/56 M113s or other real world APCs and convert them. The UNA troops IIRC are fairly realistically proportioned.

I'm trying to kit them out with some of the vehicles I have in hand. If I was going to buy something new I would get that Dust walker APC :-)

Chimera for standard infantry squads, Rhino (assuming it's the more recent version - the older one might look a bit weird) for command and heavy support units?

I was thinking of adding some antennas and stowage to the command vehicle.

Try cutting off the iconography and teching them up a bit.

Nice thing about both kits is that the iconography is optional
