Hi Raif,

Some good points thank you.

We didn't rush them out so much the target was always the York show in England, it was our lack of understanding and expecting others to work at a pace and plan we thought was achievable, but that was us coming from recruitment and management. Ok we learnt, we built in another two weeks on deliverables. We don't expect to be perfect but we are surprised at some of the demands we have had. Again we are learning as we go along, its a bit like your first driving test, this is our first lesson. God help us when we have to reverse around a corner! But we are human.....I promise.

You can indeed buy those knights at that price we have no issues there. They are not the sculptured joust knights with the joust lance or his coat of arms, they are exclusive to the crossed lances game. We will in the future be releasing more family's arms (including my own). As we get the next period released knights will have the upgraded armour and again this range may well be available in other figures, my son used his sons Lego knights to test the game for us. My son and I also used his 40K motor bikes for fun and still they worked, with a slight  modifier.

Sally 4th http://wargamesbuildings.co.uk/

Dice rolls for the joust, this all depends how long you want your tilts, for four player we use five lengths, for eight players we often reduce that to three, the dice rolls per run depends on the rolls you make, each stride is 1" and one pip of the dice, with five lengths that gives us 30 strides to dice for a total of 90 at the end of the three runs.

Yes there are three runs to each joust.

Again the cards we have issues with the picture sizes, I never knew they needed to less for the web, again we are learning as we go along, were not in rush to sell the game so much, we didn't expect so many sales so soon before the shows this year, we guess many of these sales are the people who had a go at Derby 2013.

I have no issues with feedback as long as its constructive which the majority is, I have had several emails off people who want to help us succeed and they made comments on some of the public comments, which we have taken their advice on, thanks you know who you are.

So the joust mechanic consists of each knight rolling 1d6 a multiple of times until he "meets" his opponent?

Morning Furt,

Earlier on this thread 2 d6, both d6 are used for the movement in the joust and IF a combat takes place that same roll is referenced.

Just a very BIG THANK YOU to ALL of you who played in our participation game today, who had fun and who bought the rules as well. Which is always a bonus. :D

The day went very well at York with fantastic help from Chris of Sally 4th and the great support from Curtsey Miniatures who have given with their hard work in producing the figure ranges for us. :)

Hi, Saw the jousting game at York yesterday. Looked good, but no chance to play as doing the Crvant game on next table.
Sorry if this has been asked already, but any plans for packs of watchers/crowd to sit on the very nice stands?
Thanks, Simon.

Hi Simon,

The simple answer is yes. There will be people in the stands in three's and five's as we talked to a model maker yesterday about this and the other figures we have in mind. When we explained about the second set, that is the Foot Melee', archery and crowd event he began to understand our needs.

The best bit for us is that with the third set being a one to one castle assault and the grand charge, we have been asked to include a medieval football game, the Lance and Longbow Society is going to give the football rules to us for for free. We will put then in and put that little bit aside for maybe Troop Aid or Help for Heroes.

We will also be commissioning 10mm stands for other traders and 40mm stands, from Sally 4th very soon.

Hi Martin,

Does the rulebook contain the conversion for the rules to other scales?

Hi Earl,

Any scale no need to modify figures, if you use 6mm the counters will look be a little bit toooo large, so just scale them down to fit the size you want.

lol Same with me except it was my wallet and my camera that were doing the work!  lol

I should really have been helping out with the Lance and Longbow society's Cravant game (in my defence they did look well manned) but ill health for most of last year has put me behind in the creative stakes etc.

Sorry Simon  :)

BTW, Simon's game looked amazing and is well worth a look. The pics should soon be on my Blog, La Journee:

http://lajourney-bedford.blogspot.co.uk/

I'll give you all a shout when they are.

Darrell.

Hmmmm grabbed my interest and I think I will keep an eye on this.

Other thing I noticed is - I live only a 5 minute walk away from your trading address!

Are you guys going to be at Salute?

The jousting participation game at Vapnartak was very well received, and it was great to see such a wide variety of people enjoying the game. It was played enthusiastically by many traditional gamers, which is what you would expect at a show, but it was interesting to see the wider appeal to both young and old and non-gaming partners.

Well done Peter & Martin on an engaging game.
I've started a hobby section on my web site for Crossed Lances and will post again when I have uploaded the photos from Sunday.

News...

The second set of rules dealing with the foot knights and the archers have been proof read and will be ready printed for Salute.

We are also about to release  Lord Specific cards this week as a download, these cards give a Lord a better skill than a basic knight and skill cards in the rules.

We will be starting on the football rules soon and please remember we will be giving 50% of the profit to troop aid.
