LPC 70

" ... and in the air about him were great viperine creatures, which had curiously distorted heads, grotesque clawed appendages, supporting themselves with ease by the aid of black rubbery wings of singulary monstrous dimensions." H.P. Lovecraft & August Derleth, The Lurker at the Threshold. A Hunting Horror. The miniature is from RAFM's CoC. The sculpting on the fig suggested wrappings to me so I went with a mummy paint scheme. These monsters are associated with Nyarlathotep so the mummy theme seemed to fit. The scenery is a prepainted aquarium piece.

Hey, who are we to say the Plateau of Leng isn't actually the blasted remains of the Shire, peopled by degenerate hobbit/tcho-tchos?  ;D

(the spiders, on the other hand, haven't changed!)

LPC71:  Nightgaunt

Heres' a Reaper Bones gargoyle I've modified to fit the nightgaunt's "faceless" description...

Cut the face off and used some GS to  make a blank head. Bones material sure is easy to carve up...

Lotsa cool figs in this thread... Great inspiration!

What a great idea, pacarat!

I have yet to find a Nightgaunt that works for me and this may well be the answer.
Nicely done.
I shall be stealing that idea, most likely.

Crossovers are extremely Lovecraftian because mythos is universal, even multiversal. This one may not be widely acknowledged by scholars yet, but it makes sense when you think about it.

Meanwhile, can you check the numbering of entries?

You're welcome to it... :-)

I have a few other Nightgaunts (old Hobby Product) in the lead pile - but they don't have the stature and menace this guy seems to have. Cant beat the Bones pricing, that's for sure...

When I do another one, I'll take some more time on the shape of the head. (Like I did with the dream blade one earlier in this thread). Still learning the ropes with Green Stuff...

Now if only I could narrow down the choices in my pile and choose something to paint for this thread...

The Qu-Sh-Ug was a kickstarter late last year (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/106178936/qu-sh-ug-casting-fundraiser-by-pure-evil-miniature?ref=live)

Hopefully it will get a full release soon as I want another one.
