Anyone familiar with 'Old School Dwarfs'?
« on: February 01, 2014, 05:32:16 PM »
A mate has asked me to unload a pile of early slotta lead and I could use some input on fair pricing.

PM, please, if you can help...

Can you at least give the manufacturers?  I can tell you the Der Kriegspieler/Heritage dwarf someday hopefully will for sale again (with IP rights intact!) and they are selling the contemporary goblins/etc. at  classicminiatures.net and they can tell you what they are currently selling them for (or you could just access he website and see the price listing to get a feel for what hey are currently worth.)  If it is other manufacturer you could see what they sold for on Ebay (use the advanced search and the sold listings (completed includes didn't sell) option.) There is currently 25 sold auctions/buy it now items for "heritage dwarf" alone in Toys and and Hobbies, for example.  There are 957 for "Citadel Dwarf" also.

This one was notable:

WARHAMMER CITADEL RARE DRUNKEN DWARF BOOZE BROTHERS DRUNK DWARVES OOP IRON CLAW

Time left:Dec-01 11:53
$81.62
16 bids
+$13.15 shipping

Hi Glen,

Thanks for your input. I should have thought to do an Advanced Search for 'Sold' items! That's golden advice.

I don't know squat about Dwarfs so it's taken a couple of days to ID and catalogue the 90+ figures I have been asked to sell. I have been able to do some eBay research for these old Marauder and Citadel minis, but the prices have been surprisingo_o

I don't want to be mislead by eBay bandits and need to set fair prices for these, for the buyer and for my mate who can't post these up himself.

I'm happy to help.  I've dropped you a pm.

When doing ebay research be sure to look at completed sales to see what things actually sell...BIN prices are totally over blown in most cases.

Cheers,

Blue

Egg-zactly.  All the finished but not sold sales can sometimes be a source of humor...

OOP (often not even true) does not mean made of gold as some think.
