EotD - Coaches and Carriages - finished
« on: 16 February 2014, 09:50:25 PM »
Based my finished coaches and carriages that I made a review about on my blog earlier in the year. Models painted up very nicely and if you're into doing a lot of extra work before painting I will recommend them.

See lots of images on my blog: http://londonbymidnight.blogspot.dk/2014/02/eotd-coaches-and-carriages-finished.html

They do look nice. If I may forward a suggestion, the omnibus sides would look the part with bold advertising slogans for BLACK'S OYSTERS or STONE'S GINGER TONIC, or what have you.

Also, from what I've read, omnibuses were seldom empty :)  There was also a fellow, called a "cad", on the rear step, who collected the money and advertised the presence of empty seats (whether or not there in fact was any space to be had). Judith Flanders' The Victorian City had this all kinds of nice details about the city in Dickens' day.

Splendid collection. I wonder if there would be a Victorian fire engine in an appropriate scale out there somewhere?
