Just imagine what you can hide in there...  >:D

In your Allan, I'm always delighted to see a Hinterland mini painted up so well.  But I'm even more impressed with your creamy whites among your hoity-toity-types.  I've achieved some whites I'm pleased with, but I can never get that natural, creamy hue.  Great stuff.

Thanks!

So here's the 'secret' to my white.

I start with a base of white, beige (GW bleached bone), and khaki (GW Kommando Khaki). Then I do a very thin, weak Devlan mud wash to fill out the cracks and provide shape. Then I reapply the base colour. Finally, I do highlights with more and more pure white added to the mix. I do have some final highlights using just straight white, but you have to be careful with those.

A lot of my whites or off-whites rest on that khaki + beige trio. It's a nice mix of warm and cool, tending to warm.

Thanks for sharing your recipe.  Having read some 54mm whites tutorials, the beige, I think, is the key.  For some reason, I don't have a beige among my paint collection.  I'm not sure how I overlooked it.    :(

Previews of coming attractions (aka, proof I've actually been doing SOMETHING).

Two figures painted in the past three days, more on the way. I'll post proper pics when they're based & varnished.

Fram, forgive this change in direction, but I just saw your general builders thread and it is absolutely wonderful!  Richard

I have been Up To Things.

Random extras, multi-use characters, etc. Including my Corto. The fellow on the right is converted from a Copplestone thug so he can be used in more situations (just like my earlier conversion of a similar figure with a shovel - those bat-wielding figures are useful!)
