But but but... Salute's in London!

And I just realized I didn't paint the headlight housings. Well, that's a quick fix at least.

I think he means Trumpeter Salute mate  ;)

Weathering looks good, I think a bit more work on the canvas on the top should do it  :)

The repurposed truck looks WONDERFUL...nice & gritty. Smuggling does seem like a better use than dropping off newspapers. VERY WELL DONE!

Fine looking truck!  8)

Jim mentioned dirtying the canvas top, other than that, nothing to improve I think. And maybe that too neat looking canvas will attract the authorities on these bootleggers and their shady business practices? :)

Too right, my friend. I mustn't get over-excited, I will get Old Scrotum, my aged family retainer to bring me a sedative!

Keep up the GOOD work!!

Thanks everyone!

It warms the cockles of my innards to awaken to see my thread filled with Mel Brooks references.  :D

Seeing Terri Garr circa Young Frankenstein don't hurt none either...  ;D

As for the canvas top, there's some stains in the depressions on top, but you can't see them very well from the angle of the photo. Might do with a bit more though, I suppose. I was trying not to overdo it.

Aye that's the one... Us locals tend to shorten the name, but it's unlikely anyone would confuse the two.
Trumpeter Salute is a small, yet venerable West Coast Canadian convention held every spring and while it draws visitors from neighbouring provinces and U.S. states, it rarely tops more than several hundred visitors.

But we put on some nice games and wear ourselves out like we should.

Afraid crawling to BC is rather out of the budget this year. Someone went and made this country a bit on the large side...

It is slightly oversized sometimes, isn't it?

There's a reason I tend to refer to Trumpeter Salute as "Trumpeter" and not as "Salute", ya know. I know actual Trumpeter Club members refer to the show as "the Salute" but having been to London's Salute show once (dear God, fifteen effing years ago...) Trumpeter really can't compete, much as I love coming over the water to attend.

And yes, I'll be back this year, having skipped 2014 for no particularly good reason. Will bring Chain of Command powered Russian Civil War goodness with me.

And now having somewhat hijacked Fram's thread... the truck looks great! Did you paint out the lettering on the door or manage to erase the lettering somehow?

I was able to acetone it off without damaging the paint underneath.

Which was surprising, because I have a rally Fiat with big ugly numbers and when I did the same thing earlier to remove the numbers and make it look like a normal car, the paint retained it's colour but the surface dulled and lost its gloss. I guess the Matchbox clearcoat is just better? Then again the matte effect I got on the Fiat was kind of cool.
