The shipwrights of Dol Amroth have almost finished work on The Glaurung, which will hopefully carry my brave group of heroes beyond the lands of Far Harad...

There is more pictures, more store, and a discussion of the building on my blog: http://therenaissancetroll.blogspot.co.uk/2014/02/the-glaurung-finished.html

And you can catch up on the full story of the Glaurung here: http://therenaissancetroll.blogspot.co.uk/p/glaurung.html

That is too and too cool. I like it a lot. It's a great idea to build the tent for it and I like the idea of giving the lady some privacy. Very noble. The model is great, you painted the ship up nicely and I really enjoy the idea of the good old Thieves of Tharbad cover as an inspiration.

Now all you have to do is recruit more heroes and then... well, I'll be looking forward to what happens next.

Keep us informed, this story is becoming more and more intersting with each new picture.

I like the ship...I think the tent could use something to indicate it's a tent.  I had assumed it was, but really it appears in the photos to just be a blue box.  Maybe some ropes coming out of the corners, or a more noticeable flap or something?  The ship itself looks quite excellent.  I just think the tent brings it down a notch.

Nice work! There are a handful of details I would add, though if you're happy with it as is I wouldn't do anything else.

Thanks guys.

I agree the tent could probably use something, maybe just a painted on flap or entry point on the front.  I'm certainly open to detail suggestions. The caveat being, I will invariably bang the ship around a bit and I don't want to have to keep gluing things back on!

That is wonderful.  Is the whole scratchbuilt?  Or did you work from a conversion?  Either way well done!

Not a scratch build. The hull is a single piece from Gripping Beast. I just added the little tent on the back as well as the mast and sail.

Excellent!

I've never thought about painting that model as anything other than Eomer but now that I see it done I have to say this is perfect. The choice of colors is great, the story is nice and I think this is a wonderful Addition to your crew. Very well done.
