SIR THIS IS GREAT !! now i just need to come up with a way to create some eggs for the spider

BUT ! its a great opportunity to create some new miniatures ( or in this case eggs) to cast:D
only problem is i have no rules for swarms now...i guess they are in one of the shocking tales books ?

Yeah….long ish time no posts from me…thats because i moved ….and it kinda took longer then expected….

but i picked up a new mini here in the new town i live in

 

its  Reaper Miniatures ” Eldritch Demon” that obviusly is a Starspawn of Cthulhu…

allthough i think its a bit small…ish for a starspawn , im really looking forward to using it an a game of Strange Aeons

just posting to tell you that i finally got my hands on a Bag of Cthulhu so i got a shi...load of cthulhu statues now....expect updates on terrain

Weapons: Venomous Bite (C.C.B.+2, Dam. D+2, Poison)
Special: Beast, Hideous
Egg Layer: As an Action, a Leng Spider may lay an egg.  Place a marker anywhere in base-to-base with the Spider and roll D3+1 to determine how many Turns the egg will incubate before hatching.  At the beginning of the hatching Turn, after Close Combats are fought but prior to ‘nominations’, replace the hatched egg with D3 Swarms.  The egg, which has CON 5 and 2 Wounds, may be destroyed prior to hatching.  Shots taken at models in base-to-base with an egg (or vice-versa) must be randomized between model(s) and egg(s).  Pre-laid eggs may be purchased prior to the beginning of the game at a cost of 2BP per egg.  These eggs are placed within 6” of the Leng Spider at the end of the controlling player’s deployment.
Spider Tide: Individual swarms of spiders are weak, but can become unstoppable in large groups.  If at any time 8 Swarms are in base-to-base with one another, they may immediately form a Mob.
*Brood Mother: A Leng Spider has the Command skill, but may only command Swarms that have hatched from Leng Spider eggs.
Cocoon: When a Leng Spider has won a round of close combat, it may elect to cocoon its opponent instead of rolling ‘to wound’.  Cocooned models are immobilized, and may not use Command (or Lieutenant) or cast spells while trapped.  If engaged in close combat, a cocooned model fights back at a -1 penalty to both C.C.B. and Attacks.  Should the cocooned model win the fight, it breaks free of the cocoon, but does not roll ‘to wound’ against its opponent.  The cocoon may also be destroyed, either by the trapped model or another friendly model.  It has a Constitution of 6 and 1 Wound.  Models in base-to-base may carefully extract the victim from the cocoon, but such finesse is impossible with ranged weapons.  Any excess Wounds dealt to a cocoon by a ranged attack are inflicted on the trapped model.

i buildt this "egg-sack" marker to cast and use in the games



now i just need some spider swarms.....
anyone got an idea where i can get some cheap swarms ? reaper maybe ?

And love that take on the Eldritch Demon - the red washes on the head are a great touch.  It's a fun model to paint, but does seem a little off-scale next to a humans.  Perfect for a 15mm Godling though!  And you may also find a new Lurker profile in 2nd Edition that suits it pretty well

i recently bought a bag of Cthulhu

and this is the first terrain piece im working on

Sitting Liddle Cthulhu

as mentioned in an earlyer post i picked up a Bag of Cthulhu  from Fantasy Flight Games

there are a LOT of figures in the box (24 smaller and 6 larger figures)

so i painted one to use as a Scrawny one in a game of Strange Aeons



it looks pretty great, and im impressed with the amount of detail on the figures….. a shame really that most of them will end up as Terrain
