i finished the Crypt

considering its just a few pieces of Styrodur clued together its a great way to create terrain that looks great without spending a lot of money

I love threads like this - you know, the ones that you never get around to looking at, then go through the whole 15 pages at once and think 'wow!'
May I congratulate you on some brilliant work - bravo sir!

Looking great! I'm really crap at scratch building, so I'm quite envious of your skills. Keep up the good work.

first of all thanks.....
i never get why people think you have to have much talent to do scratchbuilds like this
see the thing is....im crap too :D
i basically did what anyone can do.... i cut out the parts...( using one of the statues bases to see how "thick" i want them) glued them together and then used a pen to scratch in the "stones"
and i addet an entry plus door to the front....
its all pretty easy....
the colors are about 5 drybrush coats of black to grey
and i used ONE crappy brush from a dollar store to paint it

its not as hard as you think.... just try it out......there are a few things where shoddy work doesnt ruin the look....terrain is one of them
you can easily mask errors by adding stones/bushes etc to the base of the terrain piece

:)

I've tried too many times without success. Last attempt was a standing stone that ended up looking like an upright turd...it really was that bad.

there are a bunch of very usefull tutorials on youtube etc...
basically the main point is to drybrush the Terrain with different shades of the color of your choice and not to use too much paint :D

or maybe your colors are too thick.....and thus they dont work :D

oh and i have made a lot of crappy terrain myself.....i just dont post it :D ;)

Nope, even without paint it looked like a gigantic turd...I'm hopeless.

Ain't that the truth!??!

it shure is

I picked up a Reaper Bones Mini called ” Mortar the Gargoyle”

and thought it will make a great Nightghaunt ( as i dont like any of the models Available)

also the Reaper Bones Minis are great choices for converting!

So i removed the face, addet some horns from an old Khorne Champions head and addet a tail

It came together in a great way

I may well nick that idea as I have not found a NG that I like or that looks like it wont break whilst in use.
Cracking idea.
