My new jail
« on: June 27, 2008, 05:13:45 PM »
Last night I finished off a new jail for Ruthless County. Pink foam, some basswood, and some brass rod. Total cost about $2 and 3 hours to build and paint. Inspired by a previous poster, both doors work.

Now I just need to add some grafitti inside.

So you carved in all that brickwork? Impressive! The sod roof is a nice touch also.

Looks like you'd need more than one stick of dynamite there, nice work :)

I did the stonework with a pencil, took about four 15 minute periods (I have a short attention span) while watching TV.

The stonework looks great and very consistent. It is a really cool piece - I wonder would it work for Pirates?

Excuse my ignorance but what is basswood?

Thas a superb jail, Cory.

Absolutely smack on construction. The paint is very convincing. I laffed with pleasure at the sod roof. Now there's some genius at work there. Heh.

Hmmmm.... mabee one stick would just mess up the paint a little? Poor hombre inside tho.

Basswood is also known as 'Linden'. It grows lots of places in the N. hemisphere, especially in Eastern USA.  It has little to 'no' grain so it's great for model making. It's a bit stouter than balsa.
