Quendil's LOTR
« on: 20 March 2014, 09:24:43 AM »
Now I have started to get back into painting I decided to paint up some Corsairs from Mithril and GW.  However I thought I should build them a boat or two.  WIP on the first one

That's looking really good. I will also borrow your idea of the blue tac to hold figs!

You would think with quick setting super glue I would be able to hold things steady while it sets, but no hence the blue tack  :D

New WIP

Below is the link to the site where I got the plans from.  I have changed a few things and am using balsa wood instead of construction paper.

Ship is looking great. Pauline Baynes' map, approved by Tolkien, shows some ships. It's the closest thing to a Middle-earth ship description we have:

How have you stripped the grey base coat from your Mithril miniatures? I alway struggle to remove the primer from mine.

The Mithril Miniatures were from the Corsair Pirate Crew Pack they used to do, 27 miniatures unprimed as you got a discount.  I tend to leave the primer on when I paint them but have removed it with dettol before.
