Mary would have approved of burning things on school premises, especially in her name. Books would most likely have been the preferred kindling though.  :D

Very nice project btw, excellent to see youth getting involved in the noble art.

Thank you.
I'll let the head know the boys are appreciated (she always worries what we are up to)

Game set up saturday morning (still only shows about 3/4 of the table length) with some American defenders (mainly Stansbury's militia) in situ.

View from Commodore Barney's final line of defense.
The covered bridge isn't the right style for this, but it was too attractive not to include for atmosphere.

Glenn,

Try googling Mary Whitehouse.
Em dezembro de '81
Botou os ingleses na roda
3 a 0 no Liverpool
Ficou marcado na história
E no Rio não tem outro igual
Só o Flamengo é campeão mundial
E agora seu povo
Pede o mundo de novo

There is a brush with Australian history in the burning of the White House.

Gov. Lachlan Macquarie arrived in New South Wales in 1810 accompanied by his own 73rd Regiment of Foot.

Their first job was to round up all the scurvy scum who had been involved in the Rum Rebellion of 1808. There was an impressive rolling series of fist fights throughout Old Sydney Town which ended with the rebels being rounded up and sent off overseas back to England.

From where, elements of them were reformed into an infantry unit that was sent to Canada. And later, were involved in the burning of the White House.

So you can blame us, if you like.

Wish I had known earlier - but I shall pass your comments on.

fully ace work.
DONT rip steel wool apart with your bare hands unless you like slicing large chunks out of your fingers.

Thank you, but no cause for alarm.
a) I have the school club for anything hazardous  :~}
b) It's grey Kapok rather than steel wool - got a pillow-sized bag of it from a sewing shop (for filling soft toys?)

It was the work of just one of our boys this year, took him three months, mostly made from mountboard.

He now needs a 6 month project for next year....
