and again learned something new... apparently left or right side is just a matter of detail when it comes to antifaschism, which does make sense  :)

Nice one.

I think you can make the case for a Ranking Senior Leader - given Durutti's persona..... ;)

Some movements saluted with left or right as a matter of principle... Anarchists and Trotskyists favoured the left as the 'opposition to Marxism/Communism', others the right, the traditional hand used to salute. The hand used wasn't as important as the fist being clenched. Even some fascists saluted with the left hand...

Some photos are also 'in negative', so the left hand is actually the right...

With a whopping 15 pt rating difference between the Moros (+7) and Peoples Militia (-8) Durruti's Anarchists can fill their boots with the initial support before any additional scenario modifiers ...

My core support to add to Durruti, who i expect is the Jeffe and is not in addition to a Senior Leader, and 4 x 10 squads of Milicianos [or 2 x 20]

Durruti/Ranking Senior Leader (0) [just to hear Paul squeak!] ;)
Hardened Militia (4)
Asaltos (4)
El Hombre (1)
Adjutant (1) [as Durruti needs to be where the action is ASAP]
Flag (2)
10 Milicianos* (2)
LMG (1)

* i had thought about "Antes de la Siesta" but the rate Scrivs rolls 6's they'd be off in a flash! Better to have the extra 10 Milicianos either spread out or as a separate Squad depending.

Scenario specific choices brings in the Army Officer Adviser, Molotovs etc  :D

Nice.

How are you going to run the campaign...linear as a series of battles linked together? I thinks Scrivs talked about the CoC campaign system being used....what time frame?...late '36 and the defence of Madrid?

..when is the first clash of Durutti's column going in to action  ;D

Asaltos..don't forget your CS canisters  ;)

Here is a good Google books preview to get your blood up....

I don't know how his nibs wants to play this. Read: I haven't done my homework and read the campaign details ...

The Defence of Madrid, and the events leading to it [Barca anyone with Guardia Civil?] sounds good to me given the combatants.

I like the Iron Ivan Madrid Campaign supplement for actual scenarios. Possibly combine that with the CoC Campaign system. Paul and i will meet soon hopefully.

First game a week on Thurs.

Tear-Gas cannisters have been packed ready for use  ;)

Having thrashed out the finer points of the campaign over a nice cup of tea ... and Paul playing his ace card, the 17pts of initial support form a permanent part of the Republican's force for the entire campaign, my (unchanged) list:

Durruti/Ranking Senior Leader (0)  :D
Hardened Militia (4)
Asalto with Junior Leader (4)
El Hombre (1)
Adjutant (1)
Flag (2)
10 Milicianos (2)
LMG (1)

I had considered dropping the Asaltos, replacing them with grenades, Army Officer and a pair of assault [EDIT: yes, yes ... automatic] rifles, and relying on Scenario supports to get them back in. However, they are the back-bone of this list and will make Scrivs think twice with them around from the beginning.

I didn't want to take the chance of not having them available.

A Ranking Senior Leader, 50 Milicianos and 18 Asaltos will make life interesting for our Moros friends when every casualty potentially counts.

Salud!
