Great stuff you're showing here. I'm really amazed how these plastics turned out. Please keep on!
A nice addition for us all who are interested in similar projects would be the purchases you've made with every step.  From my experience it makes the difference between "must also get that" and "maybe later" if you know (approximately) about actual cost... ::)

Could you get a pic of those Tamiya velociraptors alongside a 28mm figure, please?

My local hobby store has those 'raptors, and they tempt me every time I go in...

I'm not sure I understand exactly what you mean... The dinos cost € 4.00 each. They are from different companies such as Schleich, Epixx, Papo etc. A very good overview of the products by different manufacturers can be found in this online-shop (beware, it's german):

http://www.urzeitshop.de/index.php/cat/c6_Spielwaren.html/XTCsid/qrvmerlpbklmuenf88sc646ue1

Simply click on the different manufacturers and you can see their ranges with very good and informative photographs.

My bases are made of polystyrene which I cut to size. A 50x50 cm polystyrene-piece costs about € 5.00. This is great for terrain and bases for the dinosaurs.

The actual cost of one completed dino might be around € 5.00 or € 6.00 including colours, sand, glue, flock etc. This is quite inexpensive if you compare it to the cost of lead.

Sorry for confusion. Your interpretation was completely right though. :)
What I'm aiming for is something like Paul Sawyer's regular column in White Dwarf magazine some years ago: He built up a Chaos force by a set amount of money, so one could follow his monthly purchases. I tried to copy that for some of my historical projects which I started in public, to help people estimating the actual cost for similar ideas.

Besides, thanks for the link. Now I've to order some dinos.  :-*

EDIT: Where did you get these Tamiya Velociraptors? Couldn't find them on the web yet.

The Tamiya Velo looks great, I guess I need some, too (thought so after seeing them first from Grimm and resisted till now - must resist further...). With the given size I recommend using them as Deinonychus.

I found them on ebay. I'll send you a PM. You could also try Tamiya USA where the Velociraptors are still listed in their online shop:

I was quite productive (well, for my standards that is) over the weekend. Based and undercoated all the Tamiya Velociraptors and finished one of them to see if the paint scheme will fit. Finished two other plastic dinos (Schleich Brachiosaurus and Epixx Styracosaurus) and completed two more terrain pieces. I'll post some photos of the dinos later. Here are two pictures of the Tamiya Raptors:

I love that colour scheme for the Raptor.

It's a shame they are not more readily available  :(
