You are having a personal Green Stuff Renaissance...AND doing a FINE job of it! The original sculpts & the conversions are done with a real flair for the subjects...the first face is SPLENDID. OUTSTANDING WORK!

Thanks, DeafNala. I love doing these kinds of changes to miniatures, I think it's one of my favorite things about this hobby.

Thanks :D They  are soon off to the priming station. I'm currently working on a few monsters to accompany them.

Thank you. I've made progress with the gargoyle. He'll have horns later as well, I think. I imagine him sitting on top of a pillar and looking down at people with a menacing gaze.

The Little Guy is UBERCOOL...very expressive face. He may be the merriest of Gargoyles. Keep up the FINE WORK!

Thank you, DeafNala. I've been thinking about making him some wings, but I'm not sure. What do you guys think?

Wings do seem to be a Gargoyle necessity. The idea of a stone statue flying around in an improbable manner like a bumble bee appeals to my sense of the absurd. AND they would look OH-SO-COOL.

Here's some progress on the painting front.

A crusading paladin and her retinue is done.

Fiona the warrior nun and her body guard, Martin and Hans of the king's elite corps.

Svend is a veteran of many battles as a regular soldier, he's now retired but takes up arms when his village needs it - which is quite often, those goblins and chaos raiders roam the country side.

Arkimedes is a wise old man who serves as a healer - though in secrecy he practices dark arts and sorcery.

Thank you very much. That means a lot to me since I used a lot of time trying to get it the way I wanted.

Thanks, man.

Always a pleasure to get a review from you, DeafNala. I hope to show pictures of the finished gargoil from a few posts ago. He just needs white primer.

speaking of pictures. Got some criticism on a danish forum for the pictures being too dark. So I fixed it. I think it shows the colors a lot better. Hope you enjoy.

Hmm.. Syntes ikke de var så mørke, da jeg lagde dem op i aftes. Det bliver lige rettet.

Hi there. Long time since my last post. Another danish poster, Affun, and I have started a campaign of Song of Blades and Heroes. Affun plays as Torkin's kin band, a dwarf warband led by Torkin the Holdless. I play as Lucius' Flawless host, a chaos warband of Slaanesh led by Lucius the Flawless. During our first encounter the model intended for representing Torkin was not yet finished, so the Kin Band was led by a cousin of his. But the cousin turned out to be a rather incompetent leader as Affun had some atrociuos dice rolls and lost a couple of dwarfs and a lot of gold between scenarios while my warband grew in size and skill.
Yesterday we had another go at it, and started out playing a catch up scenario so the dwarfs could get back in the game:

Torkin was furious, his carefully selected group of dwarf warriors had dwindled significantly in size. The miner on whom he had relied upon to gather him riches had fallen in to a hole and died, and one of his riflemen had tripped on a mountain trail and fallen in to a ravine. Torkin's cousin had not dared to look him in the eye when delivering the message.. But now was not the time to think about that hopeless oaf.

The holdless dwarf lord squinted his eyes trying to make out where among the trees the troll den was located.. there would for certain be riches to be had.. "this way" he commanded his three remaining kin..

The scenario was this: get away with the treasure or slay the trolls

Torkin and his kind band advances on the den.

The youngest troll starts moving "I smell dinner!"

And the older troll lazily follows

"Dinner!"The youngest troll trows himself at the dwarfs, knocking a couple of them to the ground.

The old troll joins the fray..

..and gets a case of "hammer to the face" - Torkin shows his followers how it's done.

The other dwarfs get cute and try to take down the young troll, the miner and the rifleman are wiped out.
Seeing his older kin die, the young troll roars in anger and throws a rock at Torkin sending him out of action.
Bombil, the only remaining dwarf runs to hide in the nearby woods, and the troll crashes after him knocking down trees in his rage.

The dwarf cannot hide and. He braces himself preparing for one last stand

"at leats I will die honourbly"

The troll hurls himself at Bombil. The veteran warrior swings his axe.. and kills the beast outright.

He shall now be called Bombil the troll slayer

victory dwarfs! Gold! Lots of gold! And ale!

The slayer was injured for this battle but rejoins his kin for there next explorations. Tomorrow I will post a battle report where Affun's dwarf now strengthened in numbers and skill and with pockets full of gold  squared off against my Slaanesh warriors

Great write-up! Gotta admit that I was pretty sure I was done for in the end there, but as evidenced, lady luck choose to favour me  :D

The pictures turned out really great as well! Was looking forward to seeing them. I should post the ones I took from last week  on here as well.
The observant amongst the readers will notice a lack of shields on my dwarves - this will be remedied, somehow: I ran out while building and painting the warband. I speculate that this, along with the incompetent cousins leadership, might have been amongst the causes for the disasters of the previous expeditions.

Looking forward to the next instalment.
