Aspen Modeling Company stuff - have you seen these?

The S scale stuff may work for detailing interiors.

Brian,
Nice find. Some great stuff there, but definitely a bit pricey.

I agree.

I am also almost certain that those cows and bulls that they are selling at $6 a pop are the ERTL plastic ones that I have.
If they are, I am in the wrong game if you can get that much for a painted one!

That was what I was wondering...might be one of those shops that re-sells a bunch of stuff tarted up for 10x the cost.   :-X

While I can't speak to the cows and bulls his horses, at least, are sculpted and cast in resin. I tried out both the S and O scale horses to see if they would fit in with Calamity. I would think that everything else is an original sculpt as well.

Maybe ERTL got their sculpts from him.....

Granted I don't own any, but I pulled up some pics of Ertl cows and looked at the pics on the Aspen site and those are definitely not Ertl cows on his website.

Which ones were closest to 28mm then?  ;)

Depends on what size horse you want! I find the O-scale horses to be on the big side, most models can't see over their backs. The S scale stuff is a little small. So there is some personal preference there. When I finally get home from being on the road for the last month and half I'll see about taking some pictures.

Hello Brian

4Ground also has some interior stuff that you should check.
It might help

I'll have to keep this site in mind though. If nothing else I think I might enlarge my buffaloe herd by a couple of animals. As far as scale goes S scale used to fit just right with old 25mm figures, and O scale figures are about 35-40mm, so 28 & heroic 28mm are some where in between.

I was finally home early enough on a Friday to take some pictures. The S scale horses are cast in pewter and the O scale horses are in resin. You can find the comparison shots to various miniatures lines on my blog (there are a lot of pictures): http://www.wargamesandrailroads.blogspot.com/2014/04/aspen-modeling-company-horses-vs.html

Here are a couple of "horse to horse" pics:

I think the "O" scale horse would work fine with Reaper and Black Scorpion...a horse about 16 hands tall...

It would certainly work, but that's a big horse. Also note that the minis are on bases while the horse is not.

I agree with your blog decision, both are out really, unless you want to convert the 'S scale' horse into a tiny pack mule.

Perhaps the Perry's will be best.

Thanks for doing the hack work and showing comparison pictures, it really helps the community to know what's good and not good.

cheers
Matt
