(INDIEGOGO) Quickey Multi-Tool...
« on: 30 March 2014, 05:33:11 PM »
Came across this while following the Audatia campaign. Appears to be useful for everyday needs and of possible interest to the hobbyist: Quickey.

How did I live without it? Because I've had one of these for the last year or so:

Yes, someone's going to have to gently break it to those fellows that there's quite a few little gadgets like that for sale already  :?

What's this tool called and is it one piece or are there multiple parts? What are the dimensions? I like that the Quickey has no separate parts, is no larger than standard keys and all will fit in a front pocket, without creating an unseemly bulge.

International shipping isn't cheap...

I've paid ~$10 to have the forthcoming Audatia shipped to me, while it's free in Europe. What similar tool would you have in mind, that doesn't have multiple parts and won't look bulky?

Whereas I can live without it because I'm not a plumber.

Can't see any hobby application for it that proper tools wouldn't do better. (Even then the only hobby application I can see is filing or scoring) I have a bunch of 'swiss' pen knives and multitools in a drawer too, given as stocking fillers. I rarely use those either.

Will all that nitpicking and championing really make much of a difference?

Condottiere

Not sure what mine is called but it is one piece and the same size as a key. In fact, you can see in the picture that it acts as a sleeve for my front door key.

As for international shipping, I'd be amazed if the UK has as exclusive in this sort of thing.
