They would make the money though! It'd be worth it!
We'll deffo catch up at BLAM Jim! You looked a wee bitty busy mate! How did you feel about your alloted stand? As visitors we felt they had left too much open space between the aisles and crammed you traders in! And there seemed to be something strange going on, it looked like no one was allowed to plug their display lights in! We struggled to see the painted pretties!
Don't worry pal, you were on the best looking table anyway!
It's about £250-280 for six foot depending when you book it would probably be double that for two days (I can see any discounts from Excel but I could be wrong). If I remember rightly there is no discount for larger stands so times the six foot cost by how ever many you need and voila, £1,500 for 36 odd foot
I might just be thinking small time but the vast majority of stands are small like mine.
Needless to say for the larger stands it's astronomical as it is and I wouldn't want to think about a two day cost. Yes, they (and us smaller stands) would make it back as I think more people would come and obviously there would be more time to buy but a lot of stands would be put off by a £550+ price tag for a two day show.
There are logistics to consider as well, not only for the traders which isn't that different from a normal two day show apart from van storage which would get rather expensive but especially for the Warlords who, no matter the complaints, do a cracking job as they are all volunteers.
There is also the chance of everyone turning up on one day so technically you could get 8,000-10,000 people to get through the door, that's not going to happen. To counter that you could do Internet ticket sales only and pick which day, again more logistics and cost.
Not every trader or gaming group can do two days so how would the blank space be filled and would money be 'lost' because of it.
Would the individual Warlord members want to do it for two days?
There is also a chance for greater theft overnight. At the smaller shows people tend to know more people so less of it goes on but with so many traders from all over Europe in attendance there is a very great risk of things going missing at the end of the first day.
I certainly wouldn't want two days as I was f****d at the end.
There is a £200 odd charge for using the venues electricity so I would imagine that's a big turn off.
Anyway, we were moved which was annoying as I've found out later that we were missed by several people even though we were over the way (size and busyness of the hall the main factor). There is enough room between stalls but only just as the ones next to us (selling airbrush equipment and camo masking sets) had four people staffing
but yes, the disparity between game space and trade space was a little odd.
Certainly enjoyed it though
Can't wait for next year (I think
)
cheers
