I'm looking for a series of books from the late Fifties and early Sixties, which would be Ideal for my pulp games.
One of which was called Captin Starlight and the Ether Flyer.
They featured the adventures of a group of british boy scouts while devoid of parental imput and heavily armed take on german spies, native of undescovered islands who are discribed in less than pc terms, while defending an armoured turbine powered airship owned by a captain starlight, who is alot like captain birdseye .
I made a few scetches of the Airship with the intention of building it . Now I've some time to build it,the books are missing from my workshop.
So if you've any Idea who wrote them. Please let me know.It would speed up my projct but it wont stop it,I've no idea how many boy scouts to sculpt,I know I need one with a lewis gun,and I think four more to cover the main scouts.
Thanks.

I found this one by G.Harvey Ralphson. Looks like he did quite a few but can't find reference to Catain Starlight....

http://books.google.co.uk/books/about/Boy_Scouts_in_Mexico_Or_on_Guard_With_Un.html?id=Crv0Foj1h88C&redir_esc=y

Quote
G. Harvey Ralphson's classic series of Boy Scout adventure novels, written just as organized scouting took hold in the U.S., on the eve of World War I, brought a patriotic flare to stories that took boys to far-off exotic locales and into situations that sometimes verged on science fiction. In "Boy Scouts in Mexico, or On Guard with Uncle Sam" the scouts find themselves mixed up in robbery, attempted murder, Mexican revolutionaries, and a lost gold mine, as they try to prove the innocence of one of their members. An exciting story from start to finish, "Boy Scouts in Mexico" will interest fans of classic pulp fiction and Boy Scout stories alike!

Are you sure about the name of the Captain? Because the only thing I can find - besides a notorious Australian cattle thief - is one "Captain Starlight", written by Percy F. Westerman

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Percy_F._Westerman

And his son - John F.C. Westerman - has got a series of books where there's things like these:

Both authors make use of Sea Scouts.

You get a similar feel in the book reads like a famous five adventure with a nagging undertone of hitler youth rather than Mr Powell. It really is a book of its time,
Im after the discriptions of the vehicles,Boy scouts marching to the homes of their friends and demanding that they join them now or there will be trouble for the adults, doesn't remind me of 'bob a job'.its these dark undertones and fanatical hero worship of captain starlight, that makes it a great series of pulp games.I've already started the first boards for the classic little England village. Now I'm toying with making a flying sub.since You've posted these pictures lol

I googled the words 'boy scouts', 'adventures' and 'parental input' and it took me straight to TMP. ;)

Thank you,
I sculpted them for Graven Images in 2006.I spoke to Crann tara miniatures at the begining of the year,as they were intending to purchase them from Jim's estate.I arranged to meet them at the York show in Feb. Neither Robbie Baker or myself could find them, and I've not heard from them since.
You could try contacting yourself, you might get further than I did.

 Thank's
But I'm sure if Graham had anything to say,on the matter,it would have been said by now.Forum's don't make you difficult to get hold of.
At the risk of sounding big headed,I'm freelance and never been short of work,or had to ask for it in sixteen year's.
I only enquired after buying another couple of Walker's a British one with the RollsRoyce style turret, and a German one with two arm's instead of a auto cannon.
