Wow!!  :o

Really amazing stuff SI - you are a perfectionist!

My wife would probably say that I am imperfect  ;)

Anyways, next update is a bit of progress on the tents.

They will comprise skins over a frame of thin branches so they will be quite angular with the skins sagging between the poles.

With the basic shapes carved, it was then a matter of overlaying a framework of poles made from metal paperclips. I was going to make the skins from greenstuff but I just might try paper soaked in dilute pva.

Bejaysus! He's stopped making scenery from money and started using paperclips!
I think that represents progress :D

Does that mean it's less valuable? :D

By the swords of a thousand men!
 :o :o

That is brilliant, Steve.
Soaked paper napkins should give you the right texture.
It will look just like the real thing.

Paperclips are surely an essential component in the scratch builders parts box.  ;)

I think swords of mere thousand men are not enough!  :D

Those will look rather splendid, I say.

If you are able to find somewhat coarser paper type, how to put it, with more fibre in it, it could resemble more a skin type covering?

You can get posh paper hand towels which are a bit thicker and have a much more fibrous texture than regular tissues. Most trendy hotels have piles of them in their WCs... I always help myself to a handful, because they are great paint mopper-uppers  :)

They'd be perfect for hide tents. Once saturated with PVA, obviously.

I wonder if the hand made paper you can get from craft shops (and often from The Works and places like that) would work? It has a fibrous look to it and it's often not really expensive.

A bit of progress with the tents

I've also been working on the castles but not much there worth showing just yet, though it'll soon be time to start using GS for filling in details etc.

The castle furnishings arrived from Thomamirillin who gets a big thumbs up for  price, product and prompt delivery.  I'm particularly pleased with the great hall and kitchen fires that will need mods to the castle to get the best from.

Added the rocks to the camp in the 'hollow':

It's pretty much at its final shape, I just need to add some GS to the tent poles and skins then apply the snow texture.  Yay!

I've also been working on the castle of which hopefully photos tomorrow.  Crenallations are now added, steps and fireplaces incorporated and some errors corrected, etc.
