But! I finally finished the dreaded mariachi band. I really wanted to have a band in my game, but the lack of nice figures was quite pronounced.

So even though it took forever to get it done these were finished quite quickly. I didn't feel like pouring over them.

I am afraid I do not recall where they are from. A UK manufacturer of some sort, but no recollection which. It's a few years since I bought them. They're not very good and I've heard that Bob Murch might be putting out a set soon, so perhaps wait for that? (I've also heard that Boothill MInitaures will, .... buuuut you never know with those guys  )

Another unit done! This time it is the dismounted regular cavalry.




I went down a different road this time. Much like my Zulus I basecoated and blocked out and then washed the whole figure in armypainter stuff. Sharp highlights followed I think it works OK with these.

Taking photos is not that much fun these days as I simply cannot get my camera to take proper photos. They come out very very dark. I wonder if it is possible that a digital camera can 'darken' over time!? Mine is from 2003...

Truth be told I've always hated painting units. This is the only way I can manage I think.
