Those who in their own language are called Celts
« on: 26 May 2014, 09:06:52 PM »
“All Gaul is divided into three parts, one of which the Belgae inhabit, the Aquitani another, those who in their own language are called Celts, in our Gauls, the third. All these differ from each other in language, customs and laws.”
Julius Caesar, The Gallic Wars

And today a gallery of my Ancient Celts (being my entry in the Round Eight of the LPL). The figures are a mix of Crusader, Renegade and Foundry and actually a small part of a quite big pile of Celts here. Totally great fun to paint!

Love 'em.

I really need another genre like a hole in the head, but I have a sackful of plastic Britons on top of my cabinet and they don't sell for much, so ...

Lovely inspiration Prof.

Tremendous looking work, Alex. I especially like your tartans, and your wine-drinking charioteer!  :)

A great collection Alex. The chariot is spectacularly good, but my absolute favourite is the bowman - what a great character. Love the colours and patterns on his trousers and his wonderful moustache. Who makes that figure?

I think it gives out the rather irresponsible message that it's okay to drink and drive.  ;)

Superb. So many favourite bits. The chariot, the chieftain, fisting girl, the fella with his lad out...
