Crocodile Trojans
« on: May 30, 2014, 10:06:57 PM »
I was part of Crocodile Games Wargods of Olympus Kickstarter. My figures arrived earlier this week. There was a Trojan army, 9 demigods and some special figures.
The demigods are superb sculpts. Very good sculpted and casted. The are a head taller then the normal humans so there is a lot of miniature to paint. The only negative is that I don't like some of the concept pictures. For example I don't think that Ares look like a Greek god, but it is no problem, because I really really like most of the other gods. I like the new Apollo very much, so it was my first to be painted.

Ok, yellow and white is a bad combo, but I wanted to make him light.

Then I painted a Trojan swordmen. It is also a nice miniature, but not as nice as the demi-gods.

The shields have blazons sculpted on them. That makes painting shields very fast and the result is very good.

What do you think about the colours? Should I use a different colour scheme?

And what about the rest of the miniatures? Helene of Troy and the Seer are superb, really gorgeous.

Who's next? Dionysos!

Lovely painting.

Yellow and white works when there's black lining involved.

I think you'd be happier if you sent the Seer to me! ;)

Nice work, so far!

I'm not that crazy about the Crocodile figures but the painting job is very nicely done, like especially the swordsman.

Thanks for the pics,as I am a great fan of nearly all the Crocodile stuff  :)

I have pledged for Demigods, Trojans and Amazones, so I have to wait a bit longer for my parcel to arrive, but I am always eager to see some stuff from the kickstarter.

Thanks for your feed-back.
Of course I should have done some black lining. I will see if I can apply it now afterward.

Good work on those! Personally I like the scheme on the swordsman a lot more. As others already pointed out the demigod would look better if you'd use lining between the yellow and white. Black might provide too much of a contrast so I'd recommend some brown colour for the lining.

Looks great!  That was one KS I had wanted to jump in on, but lack of funds and too many projects held me back.  I may pick up a few bits in the future though.

Thanks for all your feed-back. I am now re-painting parts of Apollo.
LeadAsbestos: Yes, now I just worries about how to paint her, I would be much more happy if I didn't have her. :-)

Todays figure is a fat man with a jolly laugther. Is it Santa Claus? No, it is Dionysos! And he has a big club if you have been naughty this year!

And for all of you wondering how big the demi-gods are.

And right now I am painting Artemis.

They look pretty good to me! I always liked Chris Fitzpatrick when he was at GW and these figures are quite nice too.

As they say in Twin Peak: "The owls are not what they seem."
And this is not an ordinary owl, it is the Clockwork Owl! But I am not quite sure what that is.

The owl is a "Bronze Automaton of Hephaestos".

The owl is 'Bubo', and is based on the 1981 version of 'Clash of the Titans' film, but also appears in the remakes/sequels from a few years ago.

von Lucky: Thanks! I have to look that up.

One reason I take pictures of the miniatures is to find faults. Sometimes I don't see it with my eyes, but it show up very clearly on pictures. That is good.

Todays picture is of Artemis. I am not really happy with the painting, she looks a little bit boring. My girlfriend thought she could have been a little "sexier".
But overall I am happy with the model. So happy I have actually ordered an amazon warband for her.

Tomorrow I hope to have finished the Oracle of Delphi.
