Can I carry on my original one  ??? :D

Certainly!

As far as I'm concerned the only 'rule' is that a person title their thread with the correct intro so that interested parties can find them easily :)
a mixture of quick parts, sarcastic humour, reserve, and caprice.

Would someone mind writing a short list of the exact rules of the challenge?

For example explaining where to post how to title your post the starting dates etc, just so we have an exact criteria to work towards and people who have never done soemthing like this knows exactly what they are doing.

Thanks

Well, although I'm only a participant I think the rules go something like this.

You should post in: Workbench

Title for your thread should be:  Army Painter:whatever you want to call it

In your first post you should state your aim (eg.  I am going to paint a WWII British Rifle Platoon.  My goals are: July - 1st Section, August - HQ, September - 2nd Section, etc)

After that it's up to you how often you post, whether you want to show WIP shots, monthly updates, or just the whole thing finished.  I use it as a bit of extra motivation to get stuff painted (last time I painted an entire army for FoW that had sat in a cupboard for years).  Have fun with it.

If you used Army Painters in your title, just search for Army Painter and it will show you all of the threads.

Nice one former user
merci  ;)

the clue is that everyone sets his own rules. The only convention is that we call in every month and present a unit. some of us presented the bare figures they were going to paint first, but that is by no means necessary. The challenge goes against ourselves, everyone challenges himself to have one unit finished per month or so, to go on and don't stop and keep it rolling.

this is basically it.

oh, and since Matt called it first, he proposed we present the first one August the first, but noone stops You from starting later.

Irritated because You are used to being told what you can and can't do and this being discussed in double digits long threads? well, welcome to the green pastures of anarchy  lol

and there isn't even a badge for that! only the warm feeling of having conquered the own procrastination.
And of course the sight of the finished and finally painted units you can play with, at last

The main thing was I didnt want to post a thread up in the wrong place. THis sounds like a great way to drive progress. Will be looking forward to seeing what you all produce.

Will you guys be showing your first painted unit in august or the bare models in august btw?

I am hoping to get my half painted ones done before that. But at my pace I may accidentally strip them off paint without realising it.

I'll have the unpainted lot and the big plan on Aug 1. That is if I finish my current project, of course! ::)
