Thanks for all the comments gentlemen, appreciated.

I finally managed to finish basing last month's unit and send them into a village to plunder the goods of the inhabitants, who seem to have already fled the notorious Force Publique...

I painted up two white officers (one's actually a NCO). I like the unhinged looking chap with the sword and pistol quite a bit. I painted him a little more dingy than I normally do- I'm thinking he hasn't washed his shirt in a fortnight at the least.

This mutinous askari is also making his appearance in the Congo, along with his three plantain bunches.

More on the way next month!

hmm, don't You think the huts are a bit too unstained by the weather?  ;)

Without a doubt. I made these over ten years ago- and the huts, colonial buildings, boats, etc. are all too clean and fresh. I wasn't weathering tanks at that point either :)
With so many half started projects I can't bring myself to revisit stuff that I labeled 'complete' :)

I plan to do a Belgian station house (and Azande huts when I get to them) which should be more realistically weathered.

says the man who last year repainted a whole lot of KAR  lol
no seriously, Your wonderfully realistic force publique really stand out against the huts. A bit of smudging ink at the bottom would probably do. The doors are amazing btw, did You have examples for them?

They're just printed on paper. I'll see if I can find the files, if I can I'll link them here.

Splendid brushwork, I'm in awe.

Wonderful inspiration, thank you!!

I can only hope to emulate, & try'n get close!!

Love the mutinous Askari

Is Mister Askari Rebel a limited edition?  I saw his picture on the foundry site, with several other mutinous murdering scum dressed in the bloodstained clothes of the valiant men they'd butchered, but couldn't seem to find them for sale...

If anybody has any spares they'd care to make available....

I too would admire your door treatment files!!  My own huts cry out for something better than coloured glue soaked tissue...

Darkest Afrika  seems a decidedly bottomless pit into which one flings money, & time
