Neither were plastered James. Both buildings have always been described as being of varying colour brick and stone. I've added one more picture showing the real storehouse shortly after the fight. No rendering, but what clearly appears to be some kind of whitewash is visible on the right.

Even better seeing the model building next to the real one - a faithful reproduction. Hats off. Well done.
Did you model the buildings yourself or was it a team effort?

Thankyou very much ;)
I did all the buildings myself from a balsa frame. Wooden floor foam underlay was used for all the brickwork. An old bathrobe was used for the thatching. Other bits and pieces around the table are from the other members collections.

The film was made on an extremely low budget. The makers located an old farm with two buildings that would do as a set.
The location used and buildings looked nothing like its historical counterpart. Fifty years ago not many people cared about accuracy like they do today. As for the WG model, i don't think you'd really like my opinion, but it's a good gaming piece:-X

That's a thing of beauty, right there.
'Sir John ejaculated explosively, sitting up in his chair.' ... 'The Black Gang'.
