(COMMERCIAL) What's happening with Khurasan miniatures?
« on: June 24, 2014, 12:26:51 PM »
Every time I go to visit their site I keep getting a page saying 'we're packing orders'.

Haven't been able to get on their site for what seems like ages.

Does anyone know what's going on?
Ray.

From what I have read on TMP, they do take time out occasionally.  With Historicon looming they are no doubt very busy, so this could be one of those occaisions.

Ordered recently IIRC, it's all about timing?

Or serendipity...

Gracias,

Glenn

Ah, ok. Just seems a bit strange not to have any information up on the front page of the website. I've no idea when they'll be open again and I can't even browse their products. Odd.

I'll just try my luck later in the year I guess..

I don't think they go to the cons. At least, I've never noticed their booth.

Miniatures are not his main job… which makes what he does even more incredibly! Things sometimes take a while, but he has always been very friendly and his service is excellent, as are the figures, so Khurasan stays my first choice for 15mm.

I want to order from them since 4 weeks or so. I have been interruped two times while placing my order. On two other occasions their site was "out of order". I guess I just have to try it more frequently. This order is going to be big. :-D
"I'd like to send this letter to the Prussian consulate in Siam by aeromail. Am I too late for the 4:30 autogyro?"
"Uh, I better look in the manual... This book must be out of date. I don't see "Prussia", "Siam" or "autogyro"...

Khurasan has explained many times over why he takes the site down from time to time. Every time he does there is always a post like this that asks about it.
It is noted on his site when he does that they are catching up on orders.
He is a one man show, as mentioned before. This is a side business. He has a FT job and get to pack orders after the job, his wife and kids give him time able to do it. He is also nursing a knee injury right now.
The most recent of shut down was only supposed to be a week to play catchup but it turned into two. He now states it is three because even though his site is down people are still sending in orders through email.
And i hate when he shuts down the site to catchup you cant look at all the lovely minis. He does this for a reason. He has stated in the past at looking into reprogramming and being able to look over the pics but not make orders. But again he is a one man show and time is not his friend.
And i agree that a bit more info on the site of how long the shutdown will be would be of course helpful. Since the time has now changed nice to mention it. Or even an ETA of the site going back up. It is after all an ESTIMATE after all. :-)
And of course, in the end an email to Khurasan Miniatures to get the answers directly from the horse's mouth would probably be the best route. He is a LAF member after all.
Just my two cents.

Grimm
