My latest figure is inspired by the illustrations of Tony Hough. Tony did a great number of illustrations for Rogue Trader, and remains one of my favourite GW illustrators. Tony has shared plenty of images on his Facebook page, including some previously unpublished images which were intended to be included in a GW novel that never made it to print, based around a character called Hyams. Hyams is a hive ganger who ends up journeying to earth.

I wanted to make a version of Hyams in 28mm, so chopped apart a Bob Olley figure to create this guy:

He's not an exact match, but I think he's OK as a 28mm homage!

Nice conversion, sir.
A lovely homage to a little-known character.
You always manage to find great subject material.
Love his manbag!

Thanks guys :)

@Mason - I love the artwork, its what I pored over in the books time and again, more so than rules or miniatures. Rogue Trader did a lot to establish the universe through the artwork, whereas the modern illustrations are just character portraits in the main. I like his bag too ;)

Really like those last updates! The conversions you did are really good and fit the 'canon' very well 8)

Me too.
Although I do love the Horus Heresy stuff, it was the contents of the original RT book that had me hooked on the concept.
Far more interesting than the more modern 'version' of the universe.
It encouraged free thought much more.

Today's new figure was originally from a limited edition set of Citadel 'Giant Robots' - I believe they may have been intended for a Battletech licence or similar. In spite of the fact he's not as giant as I'd hoped, he's still a decent addition to my engineering crew!

I'm always keeping an eye out for nice figures to fit into a spaceport setting, and I was delighted to receive a copy of this alien pilot, sculpted by Michael Lovejoy back in 2014 for a Frothers forum sculpting competition.

I reined in my recent drive to weather everything to death, and painted this guy pretty cleanly, as the sculpt seemed to warrant. He's a fantastic sculpt, and it was a treat to paint him up!
