Really nice work (again!)

Just curious as to where you've got the resin arms from?

Thanks dijit. The resin arms are from Forgeworld (Death Korps of Krieg and Chaos Renegades) and Victoria Miniatures.

@Genghis - honestly, I'm not teasing! Apart from the flesh there are no highlights - it's all washes over a base colour. The armour is just black with the edges dry brushed.

Well it all ties together really well.  Do you add chipping to the black armoured bits, or is that just from drybrushing them?

Lovely stuff as always. My favourite is the ex-Tech (I've also been having fun with headswaps on Confrontation gangers). I assume you have something nifty planned for his claw arm? Can't wait to see what!

I just read through this, all I can say is WOW!  I love your painting style.
One question tho, how do the old RT Imperial Guard scale next to the slightly less old metal Imperial Guard?  I have a few metal Imperial Guard and was looking at adding some RT Guard to the troops.

Thanks,
Justin

@Belligerentparrot - no plans for his claw arm yet, but it won't go unused for long! Ha e you got pics of you conversions?

@Justin Beck - do you mean the 1990s Cadians / Catachans etc? I can take some comparison pics for you if you like?

I forgot to take you a comparison photo Justin. Sorry, I'll do that tonight.

In the meantime, I finished up the final two members of the Kill Team, ahead of a game on Wednesday.

The two newest members are my flamer specialist (a Confrontation Tech ganger with Forgeworld arms), and a Veteran Guardsman (a Rogue Trader space pirate).

I'm looking forward to using these guys!

This is a really serious kill team, a solid unit with a common theme, I do love these.

Great looking team.
 :-* :-*

In fact, you have just inspired me to dig out my old IG (painted a loooong time ago) and put together a kill team for this lark.

@Mason - do it! I'd love to see what your Kill Team looks like :)

They would consist of what is left of my old IG army, the 7th Mordecai, which I posted here.....

  http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=46920.0

..... before it was sold off a few years ago. The only ones I have left are this lot....

...although I reckon I could do something with them.

I wish that I had kept the Special Weapons teams now....

That was a fine army Mason. It's always a sad thing when the time comes to sell something you've laboured over. The remaining figures are great though. I particularly like the Norse conversions. Those missile launchers could easily be grenade launchers!

I'm starting a new paint along project with a couple of other guys, with the aim of painting up some of the Rogue Trader Adventurers range. To help direct my approach, I'm starting with an Inquisitor and (in due course) his crew.

Here's the classic model of Inquisitor Obiwan Sherlock Clousseau!

A Western vibe suits this guy down to the ground I think!

Cool figure, I enjoyed the blog post and your pics. I've painted that figure at least once, and have another unpainted.

Possibly the worst sculpted weapon on a 40K figure. The chainsword-esque ridges bother me to no end, especially on the back.
a mixture of quick parts, sarcastic humour, reserve, and caprice.
