Great job!

I am looking forward to seeing the entire range painted!

There are few examples of pirate squats painted on the internet, and yours are the best!

The latest addition to the squat pirate crew isn't quite as short as the others. Not in the slightest!

This space pirate ogryn is a pretty simple headswap on an Alternative Armies Ion Age Khanate Warlord with a GW ogre pirate head. I love the result though!

You might recall that I made some aliens at the back end of last year, using the heads from spindle drones from the Blackstone Fortress set (if not, scroll back a few pages!).

I liked them so much, that I wanted to make more. This time however it was a mother and child:

They are made from an old pre-slotta Citadel Fox Priest and marginally newer Dark Future cultist:

As ever, more words and pics over at my blog.

Fantastic :o

Although I cringe a little at cutting up pre-slottas, but what a way to do it?

M`mm I have some spindle drones ??? No pre-slottas though, still much food for thought.

Consider your idea stolen, h`mm homaged lol

I made my peace with cutting up old lead years ago. I figure that the outcome is the important thing. If I like it and it's a playable gaming piece, it ticks my boxes :)

FWIW, I'm not the first to use spindle drone heads on other figures, so steal away ;)

What an absolutely wonderful conversion!  :-*

The repurposing of the poses is excellent and the heads (including the sculpting) really drive home the entire story you'r telling with this ensemble. The paintjob emphasises this too.

Just alround great; congratulations!  8)
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

That is an amazing mini diorama that you created there, so much story being shown.
 :-* :-*

Great conversions (of course!) with some lovely touches, the backs of the heads and the earrings stand out to me, but so much else going on.
Top drawer!

Thanks everyone! I'm a big fan of civilians too Jagganath - I'd love to populate a full board with residential terrain and NPCs!

Mason & Daeothar - Glad you like the posing / narrative. It was a relief to find that the plan worked out and they did interact nicely!
