More excellent work (I too am a fan of civilian figures).

What a wonderful piece! I too love to see civilians in games, even (or perhaps especially) when they are just part of the backdrop rather than objectives.

The problem I’ve often found is that civilian poses can be a bit too nonchalant for people caught up in the middle of a fire fight... but not in this case; with the youngster pointing and the mother hunched over clutching her child they’ll fit in to any game.

I noticed in your blog WIP pictures that you didn’t have to use any putty on the child’s hand after removing the gun, and yet the pointing finger and the thumb appear perfectly natural - that’s some skill. Love it, can’t wait to see more of the tribe.

You are right Raedwald - there is probably a place for some civilians hiding or running! As for the pointing finger, I was happy enough that carving a little divot out between thumb and fingers was sufficient. Glad you think it worked out!

Something a little different - it's a new backdrop to use in miniatures photography. Primarily made from bits of plastic rod and plastic sheet, with the addition of some nice cast metal components.

Looks OK with a bit of paint :)

Very nice.  At first glance, I thought the metal bits were a pair of old Necromunda bulkheads.  Having finally finished mine, I'm a big fan of a scenic backdrop for photos of figures.

The scenic backdrop gets its first outing proper, as an overgrown abandoned Imperial outpost that some newly created xenos tribesfolk have encountered!

The actual focus of the shoot is this new pair of aliens, bringing my family group up to 5-strong:

Great conversions, especially the robes on the Ranger, seamless.
