Hello all

For those interested in the missing foundry ranges send an email and ask the images of the available packs of that specific range and they will send them to your email.
Also read the text on their webpage telling about those missing ranges.
http://www.wargamesfoundry.com/

I did and ordered the ancient spanish.

Cheers

Rui

Ah yes, well found rumacara.

'We don't actually have lists of many of these lost ranges at the moment, though we plan to get to that shortly, but we do have images for many of these ranges which we will email to you on request.

We should be able to offer these mostly unreleased ranges in the relatively near future. We will let you know when they become available: Hittites, Nubians, Ancient Spaniards, Bronze Age, Germanic Tribesmen, Chinese. Also unexpected Gothickish Science Fiction from and Tim Prow if we manage to get round to moulding them (very nice Space Goblinz) .

Those models that are in a sculpting style different from what you might expect from Foundry, probably won't end up on our new web site.  But if there is a reasonable demand we will eventually put them up on a site of their own.'

Good news then  :)

Looking forward to the fantasy stuff being re-released apparently on their own site (sure they did this a couple of years ago) as Eldritch posted pictures of orcs, orges and dwarves not seen before either.

Thanks for the pictures. Those look pretty rough to be honest. They will be way down the list when I run out of poses in all the other ranges available...

Many of these 'casting room miniatures' are recent alterations of old miniatures. Not even dollies but conversions of available miniatures. They're sold on ebay and not on their site ever since the Ansells took control of the foundry a few years back, because they're considered below par, iirc. The chainmail does look dodgy indeed. also some of the moustaches and hair-do's.
If you don't believe in lead, you're already dead.

Some are definitely a bit "ropey" but others are not too bad. If you start with a Copplestone master you are halfway there!

They've also re-branded their Amazons as Elves for some bizarre reason in the "Flyte of Fantasy" ebay store.

The moustaches and hair on some of the Germans does look a bit 'ropey' but on the whole they are ok. The  Ancient Spanish and many others are pretty much OK for the most part. There are some turds also, which seem to include nearly all of the female sculpts.

Foundry seem to acknowledge this, as they state that where some are good enough to end up on the main site, others will be excluded.

I'd hope some of the below standards will get looked at at a later date, and will be re-sculpted.

It would be amazing to have a range like this done by Copplestone himself. Right now I have a band of ostrogoths of carefully selected anicent germans with a terrible shortage of chainmail, swords and axes. The figs above would be exactly what I need if I wasn't so terribly picky.  lol

slightly related, Copplestone's Punic Wars dollies were sold on and modified by Companion Miniatures. I think they sell army packs on ebay now. clearly converted by someone els they are not too bad at all. But they're not dark ages unfornunately.

Second that and not being in awe of the wargames fashion police I shall mix in some of Bills Saxons too. :)

I'll third it. Bill's one of the best sculptors out there, his Goth's are great.

Thanks for sharing. The DG512 Dark Age German Civilians look very useful for a number of skirmish games.
