(KICKSTARTER) Heresy miniatures - Done and dusted 42K
« on: August 05, 2014, 11:20:59 AM »
HERES THE LINK https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/heresyminiatures/return-of-the-monsters

Heresy are setting up a kickstarter soonish. A new big boris miniature for free if you spend over £20 which looks pretty cool. He's also re releasing many of his big monsters in resin which will be great. Looking forward to this one starting (when it rains it pours with kickstarters it seems.)

Quote
WIP of Job's A Good'Un Big Boris (JAGU Boris), a modern revisit to the original JAGU Boris from 2003. His hands have gotten a little large. they're supposed to be big, and the picture makes them look even bigger, but they're maybe 10% bigger than they should be so I'm trying to resist the urge to chop them up and re-sculpt. But this gives you an idea of the model, which will be a reward for everyone who pledges £20 or more to the Kickstarter. (There's also a knife that goes on his waist but it's not in this pic.)

Big Boris is my FigureHead model, he's in the full version of the company logo. He's a half-ogre (although some in his clan said it might in fact have been a half-ogre/half-Giant responsible) and stands around 8 feet tall. As he's matured, he's gained a few more ogre-ish chacteristics such as the bigger hands, healing factor, and insane joy for violence. Also the ferocious appetite and the overpowering body odour. All this on top of a Barbarian's own berserker fury.

NOTE: The purpose of the Kickstarter is not only to get the funds to re-release my old monsters, but to see if I can get the money to take the rest of the year 'off' from regular orders and concentrate on casting dragons and monsters! It will launch as soon as I've master moulded the first wave of monsters... hopefully within the next week!

Will we ever be able to buy minis in shops again?

But it does look interesting

I know what you mean...
I actually almost missed this announcement as I found I've started to semi-subconsciously filter out any topic with the word "Kickstarter" in it. I'd rather buy miniatures than promises.

Heresy is exempted from my aversion on this front though, on account of Andy being a good bloke who knows how to treat customers and make nice, fun miniatures. (This goes for all the companies that make up the Forum of Doom collective.)

I'd almost forgotten about the FoD!! I thought it was slowly finding it's way into the ether?

Na, no FoD topic. This was on Facebook. I still check in on the FoD often but I think since Hasslefree went solely Facebook the numbers on their really dwindled which is a shame.

A shame, especially as I don't do facebook, but do like to keep an eye on what Hasslefree and Heresy are up to... :'(

I only use facebook for hobby stuff now...lol.  The only reason I log in are to check some gaming groups I'm on, and see if any of the companies I follow are showing anything.  Everyone else is blocked (except family of course).  lol

40+mm tall? What kind of stupid in-between anything scale is that? Can't companies at least try to keep within a reasonable range of 28mm? And please no "there are taller and shorter People on this earth as well". I don't give a flying ****.

Rant over.

Nice mini otherwise, though the weapon is too much on the heavy size for my taste.

40mm tall because he is an 8ft tall half ogre Barbarian. I should have put in the explanation with it from facebook. :) First post modified with quote.

Good luck to Andy on this. He's always struck me as a decent bloke and all my dealings with him have been excellent (I have pretty much all of his scifi civilians).

Ooops, sorry. Knowing that I actually like that model quite a bit as a friend of mine once played a character like that in a rpg (way back in the 80s...).
Anyway, good luck with the KS.
