Joroas - yes it works nicely, and a small touch of paint adds some murkiness.
Metternich - the interesting thing about the Italian front from a gaming perspective is that you can have battles in mountains, wood and full scale river crossings with pontoons, boats and wading.. When coupled with the fact from the end of 1917 you have Austrians, Italians, Germans French British and even a small contingent of Americans there , it makes for an interesting club or gaming group campaign setting with some interesting options.
I have done the pontoon crossing as a game, (pictures from several versions on the Scarab site although a server malfunction may have deleted some!) and more recently did an article for Miniature Wargames which featured the British attacks in 1918 across the Paive via Papadopolis Island
