An update post on my peninsular Brits. I painted up another few a good month ago to make an even 12. And fixed a few errors. I hadn't painted the turnbacks and I repainted the ammo boxes a black brown. Then I started a the 3rd group. This time painting 12 at once. This was a mistake. Painting so many slowed my progress then painting the smaller details and under the arms got frustrating. I put the project aside for a while.
To get back my enthusiasm for the period I read a biography of Robert Rogers (War on the Run) and a few fictional Napoleonic titles (True Soldier Gentlemen, Sails on the Horizon, and Until the Sea Shall Give Up Her Dead). Also watching a few youtube channels (Ringo Simpkins and Wargames Soldiers and Strategy) helped to encourage me to get back to painting. For the small details I replaced my 3x reading glasses with a swing arm magnifying lamp. I recommend every painter get one. They are amazing.
I just finished up my 3rd group which completes the center companies of the perry box (24 figures). They are temporarily stuck to a 60x40mm cereal packet base. I have the the flank companies, command, and 4 riflemen left to paint.
