I hate Superhero pictures and think them stupid and lame...

...Yet I was dragged along to see "The Dark Knight" at the weekend and absolutely loved it! Funny that. Didn't feel like a superhero movie at all. Some great turns by all the big names and hardly anything that was irksome.

The only thing I thought was silly was Bruce Wayne's 'Batman voice.' He sounded like the chap who does the gravelly voice-overs on adverts for blockbuster movies.

TDK in my opinion is one of the best crime dramas in the history of film.
Author of the Origins Award 2013 Nominated Brink of Battle: Skirmish Gaming through the Ages; Epic Heroes: Skirmish Gaming in the Realms of Fantasy; and Scrappers: Post-Apocalyptic Skirmish Wargames published by Osprey Games

The "Batman Voice" is supposed to be due to a voice changer to help disguise him. But, yeah, TDK is one of the new breed of superhero movies that starts with a good movie and then adds in the super bits.

I wouldn't even call it a superheroe movie as it would work without Wayne wearing the batmask.

It has been alleged that they are going to be doing a reimagining of the superman story in the style of the new bat man films. That is, more realistic and gritty, if you can describe such a fantasy as realistic!

In the end though, why do they need the batman moniker? Why not simply make up a new character?

I think it's called exploiting a fabulous global brand by keeping the brand whilst gradually reinventing the product - as opposed to inventing a new, unknown brand for your new product.

Cheeky, but often effective.

Haven't seen it yet, but everyone I know that has seen it, seems bowled over by it.

The next movie could show Philip Seymour Hoffman as “The Penguin” and Johnny Depp as “The Riddler”. That would be pretty awesome!  :o

Johnny Depp should stay far away from Batman.  Although watching Bats beat his ass would be true entertainment! :o

the world seems to be full to bursting with conflicting reports on this movie, i had heard that was one character Christopher nolan said he would never do. though i'd also heard that niles from frasier might play the riddler, so my sources are probably quite poor.

honeslty i feel the dark knight is a natural place to end this story, especially considering how hard it would be to replace heath ledger, but you know hollywood love their trilogies of late, so number three is probably inevitable.
...and thats the only thing i'm going to say.
