Love seeing Fisher Price swinging back on the gaming table; I remember seeing plenty of 40K battles over a converted airport terminal. Had a 'far out' 70's vibe at first, but some lads paint 'dirtied it up' proper, and was perfect.

Patiently waiting on YOUR paint results!

BTW, love the use of the Robotix piece. I've a fair amount of the smaller bits lying around, somewhere, and always wanted to see used for greebles on 28/32mm sci-fi walls.

Commisions, huh? Cogitating...  :D

Thanks Doug!
Glad you liked them.  I've been wanting to find one of those FP Airport terminals for some time but haven't yet.  It'd be quite perfect for the kind of converting I do.  The prime/basecoat sprays are mostly done. I might be able to get to the brushwork this evening.

Robotix is great stuff. Sometimes it needs a bit of trimming or disguising, but I like it alot.

As for commissions, I'm always open to work.  I mostly do urban terrain, but I'm pretty flexible.  Let me know if you've got a project idea.

Some great looking stuff there. Maybe it's because it's too hot in the house and I'm drinking whiskey like I'm in a Sergio Leone film but the words 'brown' and 'myself' have had me laughing for far longer than they should have.  lol

If it's any consolation, they had the same effect on me and I'm all too sober.  lol

I wasn't paying attention to which words I used, but when I saw the pics I started mixing them up in my head and there were a few combinations that gave me a bit of a chuckle.  Maybe my subconscious was busier than I thought...

I think from here on out I'll try and make "interesting" word combinations when I use those tiles.   Just to make my project logs a bit more engaging.

No brushwork yet (had a family movie night instead), but here's the base-coated/colored sections.  The sections all work pretty well I think and I'm rather happy with the texture on the garage section which was made by flinging powdery cement mix at wet spray paint and then spraying a heavy layer of spray paint over that.

The blue color was a Rustoleum "chalk" matte color spray it came out clumpy on some spaceships and I expected the same (rough texture is good for buildings) here, but on this it was super smooth. I may have to give that line some more attention and possibly use it on minis.  The light green on the elevator car is a satin color but it should flatten right out with some matte spray and/or drybrushing.

This week will see alot of wet and drybrushing and hopefully finish this up in the next couple days.

That's looking great - I'm looking forward to seeing you work your magic on it! I've seen a couple of wonderful reinventions of that Fisher Price garage for miniature games, and if I ever found one at a reasonable price, I'd snap it up immediately!

Completely forgot I had this toy as a kid - what a weird toy when you think about it. Love where's it's headed though.

The Garage is Finished!
My buddy decided to keep the 3 sections (ramp, Tower, Parking Structure) separate. I trimmed the tabs a bit, but the parts still fit together snuggly.

First the tower.

With the doors in place.

The Rooftop A/C unit

The Ramp

Parking Structure

Love that filthy grime...

Altogether now!

And now it's boxed up and will be off to my buddy on Thursday.  I'm super happy with it except for two minor things.  First, I had initially put some faded lines on the parking surface, but they were completely obscured by the heavy weathering job.  Next time I'll make the initial lines bolder.  Second, I somehow managed to leave a short area on the front of each level -where the passenger gondola docked in the original toy) open with no guardrail.  Luckily my next project is a batch of scatter terrain. While building them I'll also make two barriers to cover those spots.

These are both pretty modern and don't really affect it's functionality. I don't have any use for a parking garage in my terrain collection, but I liked this enough that if I find another I might buy it just for the tower section which is a very nice looking and compact urban structure.

That's fantastic, my wife and I laughed having both played with a similar toy when we were kids.  Great job on the ramps.
