[CROWDFUNDING] Afterglow - fantasy post-apocalypse skirmish
« on: September 11, 2014, 10:09:14 AM »
Polish company White Tree has recently released early rules (in Polish - an English version is in preparation) and some miniatures for their new skirmish game Afterglow. It is set in a post-apocalyptic fantasy world - as of now the main fantasy feature is the choice of races: apart from humans and mutants, the world is populated by elven and dwarven survivors.

Last week White Tree launched a crowdfunding campaign in order to release starter sets for the first two races: Delari (human religious fanatics) and Naiym'vael (elves). Today they have revealed three stretch goals, the third of which is a set for Constructs (cyborgs). The remaining factions are: Forge Towns (dwarves), Forsaken (mutants) and Wastelanders (humans - the first race to get its own miniature).

Sadly, the campaign is hosted on Wspieram.to, which is in Polish only. However, they do accept Paypal, and White Tree have a translation of all their stretch goals on their forum: http://gry.white-tree.pl/index.php/forum/afterglow-in-english/83-wspieram-to-crowdfunding-campaign#287

Note on participating in the campaign - on Wspieram.to you have to pay when pledging, and you get your money back only if the campaign is unsuccessful. Plus once you pledge, you can't resign - though you can pledge more and get a new reward.

For more info, check:
- Afterglow page (as of now, it's mostly in Polish): http://afterglowthegame.com/

Mod edit

I have added the Kickstarter tag.

LAF has special rules for crowd funded projects which include the use of an identifying tag and - until project delivery - all comment to be contained in one thread only.

Steve (PA mod)
My LAF Gallery is HERE
Minis (foot & mounted) finished in 2024 = 32
(2023 = 151; 2022 = 204; 2021 = 123; 2020 = ???)

Why trenchcoated psuedo Germans as a faction again? GW/Forgeworld do them, WGF do them, something different would be nice. Will be following this though as looks interesting enough thus far  :)

The campaign goal has been funded!
That means that the first two starters will be released. Additionally, the first stretch goal has been reached, so the Delarii faction will get an additional mini - Acolyte.

What is more, work has been started on a third faction - Constructs.

Today is the last day of the crowdfunding campaign, so it's high time to decide whether to back it or not. ;)

I don't mind them apart from the chap firing the AK as if it was a pistol . . .

. . . . . he's going to be in a world of pain after he has pulled the trigger . . . . and probably won't hit much either!  ;D :D

Don't like that either, dunno why they didn't give him a pistol - apart from the shooting difficulties, he'd look more like an officer/commissar he's meant to be.

Anyway, the campaign ended and the company managed to achieve two additional stretch goals:
- Specter, a scout for the Naiym'vael (IMO the best looking concept pic of this campaign),

- starter set for the Constructs
