Started painting again! Adding to my crusader army
« on: September 14, 2014, 10:37:19 AM »
Having finally started painting again after a long hiatus, I'd like to show my crusader army (who recently received 4 footmen as reinforcements after years of waiting...). The quality of the pictures isn't great, but I hope they will give a nice idea of my biggest army.

I hope this works...

That's a fantastic paint job. Clear colours, and still toned down to look gritty and realistic.

Where are the minis from (especially thinking about horsemen and archers)?

Thanks both, all the miniatures are from the Perry Miniatures crusades range.

I indeed use a clear and maybe a slightly cartooney painting style, with usually only two tones of colour and heavy blacklining between different parts and colours. But as long as one uses muted colours it works well enough. Dirtying up the shield helps too!
