My boys started painting
« on: February 10, 2016, 03:57:45 PM »
vcina's daughters beat my boys by a day, but they really want to show of their painting prowess as well.

My eldest wanted to join me in my hobby and I gave them some old mini's to go wild on.
They'll be painting some leftover space marines next.

My eldest is 8. He took it really seriously. I tried to teach him some basics like drybrushing and washing.
He was so focussed, which is hard becasuse he has some serious concentration trouble.

My youngest (5 today), took a more.... expressionistic approach. His output is higher as well.
Loved his enthusiasm.

That's painting down, they are already huge star wars fans.
I'll turn them into proper little geeks....

Looking really really good!  8)

Your eldest son beats my painting skills clearly, far and wide! I think it's good practise for him in the concentration side of things, and good to go onwards one miniature at a time.

And those painted by your younger son don't look that bad at all. He also surely has the talent. Soon you three will be completing whole armies together!  :D

You need to set them up like an assembly line.  Youngest son blocks in major colors, Oldest son then does some detail work.

They'll help you work through the pile of unpainted stuff I assume you have.

Amazing work on that first grot.  Way better than I was when I started at 9.

Thank you for looking. Espesially my eldest was thrilled his model was on the internet for other people to look at.

I will encourage them ofcourse. My aim is to breed a couple of gaming partners after all  :D.

Now I just hope they don't rebel in their teens and get into things like pop music and... sports... ;D

I think your eldest has some real talent there, he should be very proud of his results. Your youngest definitely has some artistic flair too. Keep them at it  :)

More than seen, admired!

Give both your lads our hearty admiration. Even the five year old has the occasional serious licks! REALLY impressed with two of the face washes results.

As for the single grot...

Sorry, I have to go and have a weep.  :'(

Classic minis! I think they are better than my first results on those.
