I will look forward to seeing the Bersaglieri. I'm hoping they can cross over to your Maximillian range. Some of the Mexican Imperial troops were uniformed & patterned after the Bersaglieri.

In the Osprey book on the Mexican adventure, one of the illistrations shows Mexican Imperialist troops dressed & kitted out like Bersaglieri.

Quick question from me if anyone can help, I don't know much about the history of this period, who would have fought the Piemonte infantry and the new bersagleri?

As a brief summary -
The Austrians in 1859. Then Papal troops in 1860. I believe some Piedmontese troops fought in the battle of the Volturnus against the Neapolitans, supporting the Garibaldini.

After that there was only limited skirmishing between Naples and Piedmont when the former retreated and became besieged at Ancona.

After the fall of the Bourbons were actions against former Neapolitan troops and brigands in the south.

The Piedmontese then fought the Austrians again in 1866 at Custoza.
