Spanish Civil War Crossfire Anyone?
« on: October 20, 2014, 02:30:42 AM »
All.
So I've got the bulk of my first order painted up (in record time).  My plan is to use the SCW variant of Crossfire for most games.  With a Spanish squad being around 6 men, the Crossfire representation of 1 stand = 1 squad is pretty low level.  Crossfire has a nice feel for infantry combat, really makes you think about what you are doing.  Has anyone tried it?

I've played Crossfire a lot, not the SCW version though.

I have been looking with interest at these rules for a while now, but have not bought them yet. There are a few posts on Youtube showing their use with WW2 figures. I am tempted to try them but I have so many rules at the moment I need to settle on one or two systems really. I was thinking Triumph and Tragedy for SCW but just carnt decide really there are so many choices.

As he is not one to blow his own trumpet, Matakishi's own site is mostly devoted to Crosssfire. As he says, he has not dabbled in SCW, but there is almost certainly a lot of content which might be transferable.

I have never played Crossfire despite owning the rules, but as they are 'infantry heavy' they should be ideal for the SCW in theory. Obviously they are somewhat different rules to most mainstream sets, but I do like the concept behind them.
