Mochkirch - a SYW dawn attack scenario
« on: 28 October 2014, 07:14:05 PM »
Hi guys, I've just knocked up a SYW scenario for the lads. It is loosely based on Hochkirch 1758 and includes some simple notes for a random deployment by the attacker. There might be something in it for you.

I've just posted a battle report of this action on my blog. One of our players couldn't make it last night, so we treated the game as a one night testing session. It all worked rather well.

This morning I reset the battle for everyone to fight next week.

I hope you like it.

That is a fantastic looking terrain mat! Did you make that yourself or is it a commercially available product?

Crikey, sir. I'm looking forward to today. Up diddly up, down diddly
down, whoops, poop, twiddly dee - decent scrap with the fiendish Red
Baron - bit of a jolly old crash landing behind enemy lines - capture,
torture, escape, and then back home in time for tea and medals.

Fuzzy, it's a Hainsworth billiard table baize which has been paint sprayed.

It is an expensive way to go (I managed to get my cloth free) new. You might get a second or perhaps an old one from a refurbished table. New, for 4m length, you are looking at £600+. Then you have to add the paint, I used about 20 tins on my 7m length.

Ouch! That is expensive but it does look great. I'll have to see what the price is like here in Oz.
Really kicking myself that I only bought one of the nice GW battlemat when they were for sale. I wish another company would release the same type of mat.

Cheers
