The first batch of human infantry (the khaki ones), are from the great Rafm STRIKER range.  I believe they are mid-tech infantry.

The snout aliens look like Quar to me from Zombiesmith. Again an impressive turnover there. Wish I could get things painted so quickly.

Hmmm... yeah, I think the bag said Quar or something like that.

Thanks for the info!

I looked into Alien Squad Leader briefly, but the postage scared me away. Don't take me wrong, the flat postage is okay if you're ordering a bit more, but for just for the rulebook I didn't feel like paying 50% postage and right now I'm not buying any new figures.

Meanwhile, can someone who knows the rules better tell me how sensitive they are to base sizes?

I like DBx on principle, but one of the things about it is that it is very sensitive to base sizes with hidden implications (recoil one base depth etc.) that are not explicitly spelled out.

My infantry follows FoW basing and my vehicles are not based. This is not going to change, but would it be a problem for ASQL? Will it be a problem to play against someone using a different basing scheme?

Two new platoons done.

Security detail:

And some jungle fighters:

Both probably from GZG.

123 to go...

You know? I keep coming back to this thread and stumble at "I am not a big 15mm guy, especially when it comes to infantry."

Well, it's true. I almost never do them nor do I particularly like painting them. They are a necessity required to keep 15mm games with vehicles from looking completely dorky.

But that is perhaps a strength in speed painting. I have no qualms about doing these fast and simple.

If they were something I really liked, I'd be hitting myself over the head for not putting more effort into them...

P.S. Finished another 73 today. Pictures tomorrow.

It's even more troopers!

I dubbed these power armor troopers, because some of them have integrated weapons:

I think the are GZG figures from their NSL line, but I'm not quite sure.

These guys I called the Helmet Troopers, due to their very distinctive helmet design. I'm sure I've seen it somewhere before, but I just can't place it. Can anyone help? And I have no idea about the manufacturer either.

They are a fair bit taller than other 15mm figures, so they may have been intended as aliens of some sort.

...and we are down to the final 50 figures...

The top three are New Israelis from GZG , The red hats are Ventaurian aliens from eureka.
Maxxon you have probably one of the most comprehensive buys ever.

Yeah, the batch I bought was a bit of "one platoon of everything" sort of deal. Once I figure out what to do with them, I'll probably need supplement some of them.

Still, I can't shake the feeling the Ventaurians are based off something I've seen... Yamato perhaps?

And the Desert Warriors finish the set:

These are GZG figures most likely.

Just 10 more to go... but I'm done with 15mm for now.

REALLY nice job on the 15mm guys... they look great!  I agree about the Agrothax earthshade... it's probably the best thing GW makes... though I'm hesitant to say that before it goes up to $30 per pot  ;)

Also like the tutorial you put up!

Looking forward seeing the vehicles...

Thanks.

For vehicles, check out the Slammers project page:

http://www.smallcuts.net/projects/?id=project_h2.jsp

They're a bit older work than the infantry, but I'll be getting back to the tanks shortly.
