Fireforge "Crossbowmen"??
« on: November 18, 2014, 02:58:41 AM »
All,
So I am working on armies for Lion Rampant, Teutonic Knights, Poles and Pagans. How hard would it have been for Fireforge to actually provide arms that make up 12 FIRING Crossbowmen??? These pieces produce the oddest poses I have ever seen.

They don't look 'that' bad, fairly standard advancing poses I thought. (The pic isn't mine)

So many projects..... so little time.......

Had to check the sprues from FF site. Since the arma are seperate, isn't it possible to make the minis in more or less firing poses as the style to shoot included also holding the crossbow underneath the armpit.

How about using the arms from the Perry WotR mercenaries box?  There are some in firing mode but not enough to complete 12 models.

I'm working presently with the Teutonic infantry set.  While in theory the arms should be interchangable, the reality is that they are not.

I agree @NickNascati! I also have the Teutonic set and trying to make a satisfactory crossbow pose is a bit of a challenge. Actually I have found getting a good pose for any of the troop types takes work. This is probably why mine are not fully made yet.

The bodies without the mail on the legs are supposed to be for the crossbow men, i think whilst the more/over ;) animated bodies are for the 'knights'

There are subtle differences in the crossbow arms, but of the sort that only comes apparent when a 'dry run' is done with blu-tack.

I honestly think that companies should stop describing their sets as 'multipose' when they clearly are not!!

Ah, I've only used the sergeants box, sorry.
