Over the last few months, there have been some changes to the LAF “management”, which I would like to sum up below. I’m sure many of you will have noticed, but I would like it summed up coherently – meeting minutes, if you like.
Due to various real-life constraints, I increasingly find myself in the situation of not being able to be fully present on the LAF. This meant not being able to address topics which arose, and many relevant issues had to be postponed. For this reason, I decided to augment the high-level moderating team, which allows us to share the workload and make it more manageable.
• Several months ago, Westfalia Chris was “promoted” to Administrator. This means he is not limited to moderating topics (which he will continue to do on his assigned boards), but can also assist in technical and, well, administrative affairs, such as new member activation, user group permissions, member data maintenance etc. If you have issues with the way the forum works on a technical basis (or have a friend who is having difficulty registering, for example), feel free to PM him and he’ll do his best to sort the matter. If you have a more general issue which might be of relevance to other members, you may also open a topic on the About Forum Board.
• Effective immediately, Captain Blood will act as Global Moderator, which allows him to perform moderator tasks on all boards.
With this new three-strong team, we (Captain, Chris and I) are well-placed to cover issues as they arise and have some redundancy in this regard.
Furthermore, some changes were made to the board moderator assignments:
• Most recently, Supervike assumed responsibility for the Superhero Adventures Board. He’ll be taking over from Agis, who will continue to moderate the Victory Decision Board.
• Some weeks ago, jimbibbly was so kind as to take care of the Workbench Board, succeeding Hammers who is on moderating hiatus at the moment. Additionally, jimbibbly now moderates the Bazaar Boards.
• Westfalia Chris was assigned moderator of the World War 2 and Post-Apocalyptic Boards, which had previously been attended to by Helen and Silent Invader.
• Prof. Witchheimer now moderates the Pulp Board, previously moderated by Hammers.
I would like to express my sincere thanks to Helen, Agis, Hammers and Silent Invader, as well as all the other current and previous moderators. Moderating a board can be a stressful and tasking job, and they devoted a lot of their sparse free time to cover it. They did a great job and, essentially, we cannot thank them enough for contributing to making the LAF the place we know and love.
