just ace.  :-*

Thanks, Scurv!

That disaster must have been heartbreaking. I hope you re-enforced the shelves.

A foul expression or two was sufficient to snap the moment of despair with moi. AND now the case is all secure now with nice, new, heavy duty pegs.

The Time has come the Walrus said...well actually the Walrus didn't say anything about Cap'n Johns case, but Ill post some more Photos of Dubious Quality anyway:

The purchase inspiring Harlequin Dwarfs:

AND some barbarians of both Genders beginning with a Barbarian Princess who isn't Lucy...or Desi for that matter. She's an Old Citadel Chaos Chick. Who made the Guys is another question:

...another Citadel Barbarian Babe:

...Chaos Chicks:

...Chaos Guys:

AND a COOL Old Citadel Orc with his equally COOL Old Goblin Associate of Unknowm Origins:

There you go until next time.

Thanks for the reply, Duncan! I'm glad you enjoyed the post. It's a pleasant surprise just how well the Old Guys have been received.

Very good paint jobs, the figures expressions are really well done and bring them a lot of personality. Great job on the detailing on the shields too especally on the shield of the barbarianess with the hear tatto on her ass. Great work!

Thanks for the kind reply, Knightofspades! I just checked on the painting dates; most of them were done in '99 with a couple from 01. The Barbarian Babe with the tattoo & a few others are from '97. I wish I had held up as well.

A tale of triumph from what could have been the broken glass of tragedy!

Love the detail work on the barbarian babe.  ;)

I really like the varied shields on the little guys, hard as they are to see through their beards.

Thanks for sharing these oldies and goodies, and I'm glad the case is recovered!

Getting everything touched up & back in some order was an TREMENDOUS relief & quite satisfying. AND now I have all sorts of old creations to take photos of & inflict on you. All in all, it was a worthwhile endeavor...at least from my perspective.

I'm delighted you are enjoying it.

Thanks for your kind reply, Doc! I had just left a comment on your WONDERFUL collection of Barbarians & INSPIRATIONAL Blog. I'm delighted you are enjoying the horde.
It is one of those serendipitous twists that I wound up sharing a place with my Old Friend Cap'n John. The Cap'n is the collector & I just supply him with the painted pieces he enjoys amassing. It's splendid when things work out like this.

Very nice stuff Alan! The unknown goblin is a Grom look-alike, from Citadel's grand goblin range. 070205 in the 1989 catalogue.

Here's Grom, for some comparison:
