The Great Northen War, The Småland Cavalry Regiment 1708
« on: February 01, 2015, 12:37:42 PM »

I have compleated what is supposed to be a Swedish Cavalry Regiment in the Great Northen War 1700-1721. The unit is question is the Småland Cavalry Regiment as it would have looked like in 1708. I have a painted a few other  Swedish units from the same conflict. You can find them and (few other things)on my blog...

nyland Cav., unit as we speak in their redplendent gray uniforms. Keep up the good work. What figures are those?

Glad you likes them!  :) These miniatures are manufactured by Warfare Miniatures. The figure line is quite new and not all parts are out yet, but I do like them. I painted the Nyland Cavalry myself using the same range. When the entire project is finished there will be quite a lot of blue and yellow colours so there is always welcome with some variation.

Thanx for the info. We are doing A GNW battle against the Saxons ,using Beneath the Lily banners,at the SYW convention in late March in South Bend Indiana, never played the rules so looking forward to it. Warfare miniatures are nice.

Lovely work on the cavalry!  :-*

Gave a look and saw the Savolax cavalry, gotta love them the most as I'm originally from thereabouts :)

Wasn't familiar with this miniature manufacturer, need to check on them at some point.

The Victorian Outpost

Its a new gaming place in Grimsby with new terrain and new scenery, lots of respect for all wargamers and is the best place to game in town.

Anybody who wishes to visit the venue to arrange a game then  just pm me and lets roll those dice.

Warfare minatures are indeed an alternative. They are sold by the same company that producera under the Lily banners. They are mid-sized and can be combined with other manufacturers.

Glad you noticed the Finns, it's where it all started. The Savolax Cavalry on the blog are minatures from Front Rank. They are really good as well, but I had to do some conversions though.

Can very much recommend Warfare Miniatures. Some of the finest castings I ever handled.
The early (WSS) is already very good but the newer GNW range, with literally hundreds of poses is simply superb. Not all are available as of yet but when it does it will be a wargamers dream come true.
And the work on the Russians is already well underway I gather.

That cavalry unit looks very, very good!
Panic, Chaos and Disorder. My job here is done

Juergen: it's good to hear that you are painting GNW armies now. If you do the period like you do the SYW in India, that would be a sight to behold.
